Cyclo-cross is coming to Bright!
Bright is hosting a round of the Victorian Cyclo-cross series on the Queen's birthday long weekend.
In preparation for this, the Alpine Cycling Club will be running training sessions each Sunday afternoon from 3pm-4pm at Pioneer park for 6 weeks starting on the 2nd of May.
The sessions are free and open to both adults and juniors , novice and experienced The aim of the sessions to explore and develop the key technical skills of the sport including:
Race start technique
Shouldering the bike
Cornering & body position
Barriers and Bunny Hopping
Bike dismounts and remounts
Hills - Climbing and descents
Terrain conditions
Riding in close confines
For those that know and love CX already, this is a great opportunity to start dialling up your skills in preparation for the season.
A valid Aus Cycling membership is required for insurance purposes and while it is not exclusively for Alpine Cycling Club members, we would encourage you to join the club if you are taking out a Aus Cycling membership or add our club to your existing membership to support the program.
If there are any people with Cx experience who would like to help out with a session please send us a message.
Minimum age is 8 for the Sunday sessions and primary school children need to be accompanied by an adult. Maximum group size will be 20 people and RSVP's are required to juniors@alpinecyclingclub.com.au with your name, age, aus cycling membership number and Cx experience if you are interested in coming along.
