Tell us about your bike!
Stoked to have been helped out by Paul [Redenbach, Flanders CEO] on a Flanders Forte frameset which I hooked up with [Shimano] Dura Ace x2.

What’s your goal for this cyclocross season?

To win the National Championship.

You'll find me riding or racing in...

Perth, Western Australia, in A grade.

My riding/racing is supported by...

I have funded it myself until this season where Unicorn Racing Team will help with flights and accommodation for the national series. My mum is my number one supporter and is always the loudest on the side lines.

In my day job I'm...

A bike mechanic/saleperson.

An interest I have outside of cycling is...

I love cars and own a 1989 BMW E30.

What brought you to cyclocross?

The inclusive environment - everyone rocks up and just has a great time.

It really got me hooked and passionate about racing. Cyclocross is something I feel all juniors should at the very least have a go at.

What riding do you do aside from CX?

Road, MTB and track.

Tell us about your first CX race!

It started a few months before when Dad suggested we should try 'cyclocross' instead of road for the next season. After he showed me a few races videos I was in.

The next day I spent all my 14 year old savings' on a CX bike and shredded up the front yard for the following weeks in preparation.

The big day came, a grassy course, lots of corners and the odd sand trap. Dad entered us both into the newbie category. He started hard and I followed his wheel, before I knew it we were out the front alone!

I couldn't believe it! I snuck up the inside of him riding tape to tape pushing the grip limits of the crusty Schwalbe tyres I had pumped up to 60psi. Through the final corner I looked back to see him a few corners back. I had won and dad second! This was unreal!

What's your proudest achievement in CX?

I would say being given the number 4 for the National Series last year.

How do we spot you on course?

A blue [Flanders] bike, and my kit has a black and white fade.
