From the official Facebook event page:
The first full moon after the Autumnal equinox is THE sign that #crossiscomming.
Short of a global pandemic, a ruptured appendix it should be time to ask WWJD if he was blessed with a CX bike.
So as the Three Kings of Cross (MUD, SAND and STAIRS) head towards the fabled southern lands for the 2021 Cyclocross Season.
It's officially time dust off your cross (bike), top up your (tubeless) sealant* and replace the chain (you can thank me later).
Meeting point is at the East Perth train station Swan River side just in the car park.
Just look for a posse of likely looking riders with wider than normal tyres.
The first official CX ride of 2021, it will be a no drop ride along the Swan and Helena Rivers maybe even in the Swan it’s about 50kms. We will explore a few of this seasons CX courses while we are out and about.
So if you are new to the joys of CX please join in, you will see parts of Perth you never knew you can actually ride a bike with 33/35mm tyres.
Importantly there will be an ice cold #bushchook or two at the end, however if getting a coffee on Cross Friday is your thing you can head up to straight to Riffo's, Maylands as it is normally open and has plenty of seats.
Then come back for a refreshing tinny of the divine bush chook.
But if your favourite purveyor of fine coffee is open - enjoy.
* A few Suffer on the Crosses ago ride there were a few punctures so bring two tubes if you are tubed, if tubeless top up (this should be done every 3 months as a minimum)
NB - If you do puncture keep the goat head and put it in the bin, don't throw it away as we will start to spread them even more. See less
